Jay was born in 1977 in Kansas City, Kansas, but grew up in Southeastern Indiana. He moved to Maryland in 2004 and the Eastern Shore in 2013.
He became interested in photography as a young child during a field trip in the third grade, after receiving a Kodak 110 camera as a gift. He continued to take interest in photography throughout his school years, taking many photographs at school functions and class trips. As a young adult, he become more interested graphic arts, land-scapes and nature scenes for his work.
He considered himself strictly an amateur until 2009 when he was approached to photograph a friend’s wedding. Since then, he has grown as a professional and started taking classes to further his skills as well as participating in several community festivals.
In October of 2011, he participated in his first art show through the Anne Arundel Community College (AACC.) This was a very exciting step for him. As of March 2012, his art prints are offered for sale at, The Clayground, a small gallery in historic Ellicott City, MD and on the web at Etsy.com. In November 2014, he participated in his first art show at the Dorchester Center for the Arts in Cambridge, MD. In August of 2016 he participated in his first art show at the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art in Salisbury, MD.
Jay is ordained to perform weddings/civil unions, a writer, graphic designer, and a webmaster. He continuously takes classes to improve upon his talents and to learn new methods. He is also available to do photos of your own art/items for webpage's, catalogs, etc...
